Maternal Instincts, 2014
Representations of mothers and the maternal experience in visual culture have been largely idealized. The images in this documentary series represent a desire to make photographs about motherhood that could challenge the viewer to accept an unconventional, yet more accurate, image of mothering that is not stereotypical or romanticized.
